Consignment Agreement

Thank you for choosing Edit by J for your consignment needs. This agreement outlines the terms and conditions for consigning your designer and contemporary fashion items with us.

1. Consignment Terms

Items accepted on consignment will be displayed and sold through Edit by J's online storefront. The consignment period is typically 60 days from the date of acceptance. If an item hasn't sold in 60 days, we will determine if the listing should stay or be removed from the site.

2. Commission Structure

Edit by J retains a commission on all sold items. The consignor receives 60% of the final sale price as outlined in the individual consignment contract. The consignee (Edit by J) receives 40%.

3. Pricing

Edit by J reserves the right to set and adjust pricing to optimize sales. Price reductions may be implemented after 30 and 60 days to encourage turnover.

4. Item Acceptance

We curate items based on brand, condition, style, and current market demand. Not all submitted items may be accepted for consignment. Accepted items must be:

  • Authentic designer or contemporary brands
  • In excellent, gently used condition with no visible damage
  • Clean and ready for sale
  • Current or classic styles with resale value

5. Payment

Consignors receive payment within 7 days of item sale via Zelle or Venmo, only after the package has been delivered to the buyer.

6. Unsold Items

At the end of the consignment period of 60 days, unsold items may be:

  • Extended for an additional consignment period by mutual agreement
  • Removed from the website

7. Liability

While we take great care of all consigned items, Edit by J is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage beyond our reasonable control. Once the item shows as delivered by the shipping source, the payments will be released.
